In 2010, industrial sale prices for the French chemical industry went up by more than 5% on average, having declined 9.1% in 2009.
 
The upward trend began from a low point in May 2009. In the first half of 2010, prices were 3.3% higher than in the second half of 2009, and 2.9% higher in the second half of 2010 than in the first half of the year. The average semester-on-semester increase in 2010 was 3%, with the pace slackening towards the end of the year. In December 2010, prices were around 7% higher than in January 2010.
