Communication

Compétences "communication"

On of the UIC's main jobs is to communicate with peopleoutside the chemical industry. The aims of communication include:

  • Improving the image of the chemical industry, which is at the service of man and progress, telling about the manufacturers' advances in matters of plant and product safety,
  • Convincing people that chemicals manufacturers have really made many efforts to take an active part in a global environmental policy,
  • Talking young people into choosing careers in the chemical industry. For that matter, the UIC sets up lectures in secondary schools and national events such as the Chemistry Olympiads or The Chemistry Class.
  • Being in constant contact with various authorities and associations. Communication targets are the general public, officials, the media, young people and teachers.

The UIC uses many means of communication, including a public website, an Extranet network, films, brochures and other publications. On top of that, the UIC organises public events, which are given a lot of media coverage and allow to deliver information as well as encourage exchanges. The UIC is in close contact with the media. It also holds press conferences and issues statements.

The UIC implements a collective and national communication policy with the help of the regional associations and member companies, so that the French chemical industry can express itself loud and clear.
